Obituary

O’Gryzek, Jason A. of Woonsocket, RI formerly of Dedham, June 18, 2026. Beloved son of Carmela (Mazzaferro) O’Gryzek of Bellingham and the late Richard A. O’Gryzek Sr. Devoted brother of Richard O’Gryzek Jr. and his wife Staci of Norfolk. Uncle of Deven O’Gryzek of Medway and Madison O’Gryzek of Boston. Nephew of Mary Mazzaferro of Ipswich, Joe Mazzaferro of Dedham, and Anthony Mazzaferro of Niantic, CT. Also survived by many loving cousins, dedicated friends, extended family in Montreal, and his loyal companion Cooper.

After graduating from Dedham High, Jason went to culinary school while working at Ambrosia’s in Boston. Shortly after he worked for the family business Allstar Waterproofing for many years. The last three years he worked at Woonsocket City Hall where they all loved him.

Jason loved to travel, meeting many new friends along the way. Jason was Boy George’s biggest fan. He so loved to dance to all kinds of music. He was the first on the dance floor always pulling out his friends to join him.

Jason was an avid gardner. Also dedicated to his many dogs throughout his life. He loved hiking with with his loyal companion Cooper. He also loved wildlife.

Jason had an exceptional memory for dates, times, places, and people. He was the best storyteller. The room lit up every time he arrived whether it be his exceptional outfits and many hats. Jason loved the beach and his 5lb lobsters at Barnacle Billy’s in Ogunquit, ME.

From the day he was born he charted his own course. When he was 5yrs old Jason to decided to walk home from the Ames School to the Dedham line where we lived around 4 miles instead of taking the school bus. The school and everyone e;se where in a panic. When finally located, he told the police officer he just wanted to walk home.

He was a pistol.

Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St, Dedham on Monday, June 29 from 4-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, June 30 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10am (accessible parking in the rear of the church). Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jason’s memory to the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, 9 Plain St, #500, North Attleborough, MA 02760 or to the Medfield Animal Shelter, 101 Old Bridge St, Medfield, MA 02052.
