Obituary

Juan Daniel Soto, Jr., 56, of Lowell, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 17, 2026.

He was born on March 29, 1970, in Comerio, Puerto Rico, the son of Juan D. Soto, Sr. and Georgina Rivera Moreno.

Juan was a man who gave generously of himself to those around him. Known throughout the Lowell community for his willingness to help others, he was deeply involved in the life of the city he called home. By trade, Juan worked as a laborer in the construction industry. He dedicated much of his time and energy to serving his neighbors, volunteering his skills and labor on behalf of the community and lending his hands to projects at Lowell City Hall and the local Social Security building.

He is survived by his children, Emily Isabel Soto, Juan Daniel Soto III, and Marina Soto; his grandchildren, Matthew and Angela; his father, Juan D. Soto, Sr. of Philadelphia; his mother, Georgina Rivera Moreno of Dracut, formerly of Lowell; and his siblings, Yolanda, Carmen, Wanda, Jose, Rosa, and Israel. He was predeceased by his sister, Maria.

While his wishes were for no viewing, there will be calling hours with a closed casket from 4pm until 6pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
