Obituary

Worcester – Lois R. (Lucier) McDonald, 84, of Worcester, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 in her home after an extended illness.

Lois is survived by her husband of 43 years Robert J. McDonald; a daughter, Nadine D. DuBois of Barre; three grandchildren, Tyler Dubois and his fiancée, Chelsea King who was a loving caregiver to Lois, Jacob Dubois and Kyrsten Dubois; a great grandson, Parker Dubois; four brothers, Douglas Lucier of Auburn, Robert Lucier of Oxford, Alan Lucier of Oxford and Thomas Lucier of Douglas; many nieces and nephews including Peter Brindisi of Dudley.

Lois was born in Worcester, MA daughter of the late Edward and Blanche (Goyette) Lucier and is also predeceased by two brothers, Edward Lucier and Gerald Lucier as well as a sister, Dorothy Candia.

Mrs. McDonald worked as a housekeeper for 25 years at the College of the Holy Cross before retiring in 2008. Lois was an avid New England Patriots fan and always made sure to watch their games. She enjoyed camping, taking trips to beach and playing card games with her brothers, but she was truly the happiest when she was able to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 25 at 11 AM in Saint John’s Church 44 Temple Street Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 in the Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry Funeral Service Memorial Chapel 33 Ward St. Worcester before leaving in procession to go to the church.
