Merice Roberts, 89, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Ocilla Methodist Church in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the church on Sunday.
Mr. Roberts was born July 7, 1936, in Berrien County, Georgia, to the late Wilson & Aileen Joiner Roberts. He attended school in Berrien County and worked for Eastern Airlines for 38 years as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of Ocilla Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons: Elder Ray Roberts of Ocilla and Jeffrey Alan Roberts of Greenville, South Carolina; six grandchildren: Anna Maddox, Amanda Roberts Hall, Ryan & Lindsey Roberts, Christopher & Katherine Roberts, Ashley Roberts, and Zachary Roberts; eight great-grandchildren: Isla Roberts, Betty Roberts, Georgia Roberts, Keith Roberts, Emily Roberts, Wesley Roberts, Nolan Maddox, and Dylan Maddox; a sister, Betty Jean Anderson of Ocilla; and a brother, Jerry Roberts of Port St. Joe, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Betty F. Roberts; and a brother, Herman Roberts.
