Obituary

Elizabeth Kittle, 85, of Mystic, Georgia, died Monday, June 15, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mystic Baptist Church in Mystic, with Brett Tucker and Anna Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in Mystic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mrs. Kittle was born October 4, 1940, in Dooly County, Georgia, to the late A.B. and Audrey Mae Walden. She lived in Mystic, Georgia, for most of her life and was a faithful member of Mystic Baptist Church. Mrs. Kittle worked part-time at the Mystic Post Office and served for many years as a poll holder for the Mystic voting precinct. Above all, she devoted her life to her family and her home. She often said that supporting her husband in his farming work and raising her family were the most important and meaningful parts of her life.

She had a gift for making others feel cared for and was known for her quick wit. Her cooking was loved by family and friends, and many special memories were made around her table. Everyone felt welcome at her house. She was the happiest when the family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were gathered around her.

She also found joy in reading her many books from the library, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and quilting the perfect pieces. She treasured the fellowship she shared with her sewing friends. Through their work together, pillows were made for cancer patients, bringing comfort during difficult times. She also made quilts for children at the Methodist Children’s Home, offering warmth and love to those who needed it. Mrs. Kittle’s life was a beautiful example of service above self.

Mrs. Kittle is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Billy Hancock of Mystic; son-in-law, Tony Tucker of Camilla; five grandchildren: Brett Tucker and wife, Janna; Matthew Tucker and wife, Madeline; Brooks Tucker and girlfriend, Raine; Anna Hancock; and Callie Mauldin and husband, Cody; four great-grandchildren: Audrey Tucker, Elizabeth Tucker, Bo Tucker, and Cason Mauldin, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Kittle; a daughter, Laura Beth Tucker; and a son, David Lawrence Kittle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mystic Baptist Church, P.O. Box 38, Mystic, GA 31769 or Mystic Cemetery Fund, 313 Bugle Lane Rd., Ocilla, GA 31774.
