Maria Luisa Elizondo Dueñas, age 94, of Sinaloa, Mexico, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 15, 2026.
Maria was a devoted mother whose life was marked by love, faith, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to her family. She leaves behind her beloved son, Jorge, who was the joy of her life. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and enduring love will continue to bless all who knew her.
Born in Sinaloa, Mexico, Maria carried with her a deep appreciation for family and the values that shaped her throughout her long and meaningful life. Those who loved her will remember her gentle spirit, her resilience through life's challenges, and the warmth she shared with family and friends.
With faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ and the promises of eternal life, Maria's family finds comfort in knowing that death is not the end, but a sacred transition. She is now reunited with her beloved parents, Miguel Elizondo and Maria Luisa Dueñas, along with other cherished loved ones who have preceded her in passing. Through the Savior's Atonement and Resurrection, her family looks forward with hope to a joyful reunion in the life to come.
Though she will be deeply missed, her memory, example, and love will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Fredy Cerrato for his spiritual guidance, compassion, and support. Bishop Cerrato will officiate the graveside service and offer words of comfort and hope grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

María fue una madre devota cuya vida estuvo marcada por el amor, la fe, el sacrificio y una dedicación inquebrantable a su familia. Le sobrevive su querido hijo, Jorge, quien fue la alegría de su vida. Su legado de bondad, fortaleza y amor perdurable continuará bendiciendo a todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.
Nacida en Sinaloa, México, María llevó consigo un profundo amor por la familia y los valores que guiaron su vida a lo largo de sus 94 años. Será recordada por su espíritu amable, su fortaleza ante las dificultades y el cariño que compartió generosamente con familiares y amigos.

La inhumación y el servicio junto a la tumba se llevarán a cabo el sábado 20 de junio de 2026 en Assumption Cemetery, 19500 S Cottage Grove Ave Glenwood, IL 60425.
Aunque María será profundamente extrañada, su recuerdo, su fe y su ejemplo de amor permanecerán para siempre en el corazón de quienes la conocieron y amaron.
