LIMERICK- Barbara E. York of Limerick, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2026, at the age of 96. She was the daughter of Frank and Irene Dibble of Watertown, New York where she was born on January 20, 1930. She is survived by her daughter, a niece, and grandchildren , great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, and her beloved brother, his two sons,
and his wife. Her family is especially grateful for the care, kindness and support received from Hospice. She will be remembered for her unconditional love to family, her years of volunteer service to the Girl Scouts; both in Maine and New York, and her interest in protecting birds and other wildlife.
A private family burial will be scheduled at a later date at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Southern Maine, The Girl Scouts of Maine or The Maine Audubon Society.
