
Iris V. “Lala” (Cirignano) Solimini, of Wakefield, formerly of Boston’s North End, passed away on Wednesday, June 10th. She was 90. Born in Avellino, Italy, she was the cherished daughter of the late Carlo and Louise (De Minico) Cirignano.
Lala loved to cook and was known for her homemade pizza and pizzelle they were everyone’s favorites. She looked forward to spending time with her family every weekend at their summer home in Hillsborough, NH. Lala was an animal lover and adored her two dogs Jack and Jake. She loved her family, especially when it came to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were her world.
Lala was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Solimini. She was the devoted mother of Carla Solimini of Wakefield and the late Gerald C. Solimini and his surviving wife Rose. She was the loving Grammy of Cara Silvia and her loving companion Joseph De Rosa, Gerald Solimini and his wife Helenia, and Kristina Di Nicola and her husband Andrew. She was the caring Great Grammy of Colton, Kaisley, Maverick, Zachary, Riley and Lucca. She was the dear sister of Angie Bono, and the late Frank Cirignano, the late Aurora Tarantino, and the late Joseph Cirignano. She is also survived by many loving family members.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Lala’s family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday June 16th from 5 PM to 7 PM. On Wednesday, June 17th a funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10 AM (please go directly to church). Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
