Helen K. Hickernell, 99, of Medway, MA and formerly Middletown, PA, passed away on June 8, 2026, at Countryside Healthcare in Milford.
Helen was born and raised in Middletown, PA, where she was a homemaker who loved nothing more than taking care of her home and yard. Helen loved mowing her acre of lawn on her riding mower, which she did well into her 80s. The thing Helen held most dear was her family, and she treasured them more than anything in her life.
Helen is survived by her beloved daughter Judy and her cherished granddaughters Sherri (Julie), who, she told everyone, called her each and every day for more years than she could remember; Kristy (Adam) who blessed her with two great grandchildren, Aiden and Hazel; Meghan (Will) who she couldn’t have been more proud of because she became a doctor and her step-grandchildren, Jason (Jenny) and Niki (Brian), and step-great grandson, Jack (Kelsi), who were wonderful additions to her family, as well as nieces and nephews.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband David; her son Ronald and daughter-in-law Brenda; her son-in-law Edward Reilly; her parents Harrison Krepps and Dorothy (Metz) Keller; brother Robert Krepps; and sister Ruth (Krepps) Sellers.
A special note of thanks to the nursing staff at Countryside Healthcare of Milford and to her aide, Lilly, who held a special place in Helen’s heart.
Helen will be laid to rest in Middletown, PA, next to her beloved husband David.
