Gemina DePina Neves, 103, of New Bedford died Tuesday September 19, 2006 at home. She was the wife of the late Cristovao Neves.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Joao Marcelino and Maria (Fonseca) DePina, she lived in New Bedford since 1971.
She was the oldest member of the International Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include eight children, Joao DePina Neves, Maria Neves, and Lidia Goncalves and her husband Julio, all of New Bedford, Abel Gomes and his wife, Jacqueline of Boston, Antonio DePina Neves and his wife Angela of Chelsea, Carlota Santos and her husband Pedro of Seekonk, Carlota Ferreira of England, and Paula DePina and her husband Fernando of Providence; twenty grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 9 AM in the International Church of the Nazarene, 284 Pleasant St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
