STANDISH- Clara "Claire" May Bridges, age 72, passed away on June 6th, 2026, at her home
peacefully in her sleep.
She was born in Machias, Maine on April 10th, 1954, a daughter to the late Ethel and Arthur
Prescott. She worked for many years as a nurse at The Gorham House located in Gorham,
Maine, until she retired in 2017. Clara enjoyed painting, shopping, cooking and baking, and
spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by 3 brothers, Peter Prescott, Joe Prescott, and Elvis Prescott. Clara is
survived by her husband of 49 years, Mark Bridges, her sister, Toni Mayes, her daughters,
Melissa Bridges of Standish, Melinda Bridges of Standish, Annmarie Mulkern of Topsham,
grandchildren, Owen, Evan, Sophia, Kendra, David and Giovanni.
