Jeanne N. Samson, lovingly known as “Nancy,” of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, passed away on May 20, 2026, at the age of 70.
Born in Middleboro, Massachusetts, Nancy was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lucille (LaChance) Couillard and the sister of the late Maurice Couillard. She was the devoted and beloved wife of Ron Samson. Together, they shared 34 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, music, family gatherings, motorcross races, and many more treasured memories.
In addition to her husband, Ron, she leaves her loving daughters, Leila (Laura) Arrell of Hobe Sound, Florida, and Jeanine (Laura) McKee of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She was the cherished grandmother of Alyza Martinez and Ivelisse Martinez, and the proud great-grandmother of Selena Johnson and Legend Johnson. She also leaves her aunt, Claudette (Madore) LaChance, and her cousins, Tina (LaChance) Rygiel and Guy LaChance, along with many extended family members and friends.
Nancy worked for ten years at Winthrop Atkins, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic.
Above all else, Nancy cherished her family. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with those she loved, whether gathered around the table for family dinners, hosting holiday parties, enjoying game nights, or simply sharing laughter and making memories together.
Nancy also had a deep love for music and entertainment. She enjoyed attending concerts, singing along to her favorite songs, and dancing the night away whenever she had the chance. Her lively spirit, infectious laughter, and love of having fun brought joy to countless family gatherings and celebrations.
Nancy was not only a loving mother to her own daughters, but also a "Mom" to many of their friends over the years. Her home was always a welcoming place, and she was someone their friends could turn to through both laughter and tears. Whether offering a listening ear, words of encouragement, or just enjoying a good laugh. Nancy had a special way of making others feel loved, accepted, and cared for.
Nancy adored her granddaughters. She was present in all aspects of their lives. She even moved away from her hometown just to be closer to them. She was also overjoyed to become a great-grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow and flourish.
Nancy's love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she is gone from our sight, the memories she created and the joy she shared will remain a lasting gift to those whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held privately.
