Theresa was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, Mimi, aunt, and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was an avid reader, crafter, and cook who always took care of others and wanted to make sure everyone around her had a good meal to eat. She was fiercely loyal to those she loved and spent her life taking great care of them.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Becca Lorraine, and Becca’s spouse, Maken, along with their son, Merritt James, who brought great happiness to Theresa’s life. She is also survived by her father, Elias “Buddy” Gladden, brother, Gerald Gladden, sister, Karen Reeves, widow of the late Ray Reeves, nephews Luther, Samuel, Elijah and his wife, Ashley, and their sons, Theo and Elrick as well as three stepchildren who she loved like her own, Joseph Hawkins, Jeremy Hawkins (Jennifer) and Bethany Smock (Andrew).
Theresa was preceded in death by her grandparents and mother, Patricia Gladden.
In accordance with her wishes, Theresa will be cremated and laid to rest beneath a camellia bush, a tribute to the beautiful camellia that once bloomed in her grandmother’s yard and held a special place in her heart.
A private celebration of Theresa’s life will be held by her family. Theresa would want them to have a good meal and think of her.
Though she will be deeply missed, Theresa’s love and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
