James L. Dervishian, of Medford, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 29th, 2026 at the age of 74. He was the beloved husband of Melissa (Mallory) Dervishian. He was the devoted father of Christina Cassano and her husband Robert of Medford, and Jamie Dervishian, also of Medford. He was the adored “Papi” to his cherished granddaughter, Giulia Isabel Cassano. He was the dedicated companion to his and Melissa’s collie, Sailor. He was the son of the late Leo G. and Mary E. (Freitas) Dervishian of Derry, NH and Somerville, MA and pre-deceased by his brother’s, Leo G. Jr. “Skip” and Thomas S. Jimmy is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
Jimmy was a devoted and long-standing member of the Lodge of Elks in Medford, which he considered a second family. As a young man, Jim proudly served in the United States Marine Corp for several years and also dedicated over forty years of his life to California Paints, where he served as a lab quality control technician.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Jim’s memory to the Medford-Malden Lodge of Elks No.915 located at 19 Washington St., Medford. While no services will be held, a celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future for friends and family to remember him.
