
DEL RIO, TX - Clifford J. Kos, 88, formerly of Dudley, MA and Palmdale, CA, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026 in La Vida Serena hospice care in Del Rio, TX, joing his wife of 52 years, Yvonne A. (Mudgett) Kos d. 2018.
He leaves two daughters, Kristina J. DeLarra (Raoul) of St. George, UT and Kathleen Y. Jone (Ryan) of Del Rio, TX; 4 grandchildren, Courtney J. DeLarra of Kissimmee, FL, Austin F. DeLarra of St. George, UT, Shelby Y. Jone of Waco, TX, and Kelsey M. Jone, currently serving in Germany; one great-grandson, Elijah T. Jone; and a long-time friend, Kris Danko and his wife Tammy of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his sister Joanne Kos d. 2012.
He was born on September 28, 1937 in Webster and raised in Dudley, the son of Joseph A. and Josephine A. (Piasta) Kos and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1955. He lived in California for many years before moving back to Dudley, MA and finally to Del Rio, TX.
He proudly served in the United States National Guard for six years.
Cliff was a union printer in the newspaper industry for 42 years before retiring. He was also a founder of the High Desert Koi Fanciers while in California. At one time he had an extensive private collection of Nash Metropolitan before losing his collection to a devastating fire.
He was a former member of Saint Joseph Basilica in Webster, MA. a born naturalist, he enjoyed giving educational nature talks to students all across the country.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19 at 11:00 AM in Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, MA. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster, MA. Visitation will take place Thursday, June 18 in the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
