Obituary

SOUTHAMPTON - Susan M. (Berrouard) Fern, 77, of Southampton, was Called Safely Home on Friday, May 29, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on July 7, 1948, a beloved daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Remillard) Berrouard. She was raised in Springfield and graduated from Cathedral High School. After living there for many years, she moved to Southampton in 2010 where she lived the remainder of her life. She continued her education and received her degree in nursing from the Mercy Nursing School in Springfield. She was a registered nurse at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, Connecticut and previously Baystate Medical Center / Wesson Women's Maternity in Springfield. She loved reading, golfing, and playing Keno. She also enjoyed wintering in Sebastian, FL and Barefoot Bay, FL, spending time at Lake Champlain in Swanton, VT, and boating in Westerly, RI. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Peter A. Fern. They were married on April 17, 2010 and were blessed with 16 years of happiness together. She also leaves her two loving and devoted children, Amy Pasini and her husband, Michael, of Scituate, MA, and Jeffrey Weyant of Westfield; her three cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Spinzola and her husband, Jacob, of Scituate, Michael Pasini of Los Angeles, CA, and Julia Pasini of Boston; her dear brother, Alan J. Berrouard of Southampton, her cherished niece, Audrey Berrouard; and extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Paul A. Berrouard who was Called Home on July 26, 2012. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Her Committal Service will be private at a later date at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Her family will receive friends at on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before Mass.
