Obituary

Worcester- Stella A. (Czyryca) Kuczynski, 89, of 52 Pilgrim Avenue, died Saturday, Sept. 7, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.

Her husband of 41 years, Edward Kuczynski, died in 1988. She leaves three daughters, Carolyn E. wife of David G. McClure of Holden, Karen A., wife of Sergio C. DeBari of Holden, and Judith M., wife of Timothy Ritchie of London; two sisters, Genevieve Debs of Sutton and Jane Mendys of Worcester; 5 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; nephews and nieces. A brother, Edward C. Czyryca, died in 2001. A sister, Bernice Leniek, died this year. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Anthony and Helen (Rolenowicz) Czyryca, and was raised by her father and step-mother, Caroline (Sawicki) Czyryca. She attended St. Marys Schools.

Mrs. Kuczynski was a Narcotics Department Manager at Brewer & Co. in Worcester and later worked in quality control at Astra Pharmaceutical Company, retiring in 1983.

She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Parish. She was a member and secretary of the Last Bloomers Bowling Group, a member and treasurer of the Astra Pharmaceutical Retirees Association, and an auxiliary member of the U.S. Steel Retirees Association.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home (www.worcesterfuneral.com), 33 Ward Street, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christopher House, Alzheimers Unit, 10 mary Scano Drive, Worcester, MA 01605.
