Obituary

Glynn Ray Hutto, 84, of the Holt community in Irwin County, Georgia, died Thursday, May 28, 2026, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, May 31, 2026, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Allen Arowood and the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Lax Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mrs. Hutto was born May 23, 1942, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Ben & Olif Harper Chaney. She was a graduate of Irwin County High School. For 47 years, she was a beautician and owned and operated Holt’s Beauty Shack. She loved cooking and baking as well as fishing. Mrs. Hutto formerly owned Hutto’s BBQ and Holt Grocery. She enjoyed thrifting and shopping at Goodwill. She was a member of Satilla Baptist Church and attended Holt Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two daughters: Freida Bennett (Daniel) and Linda Gail Towson, all of the Holt community; grandchildren: Will Towson (Misty), Toni Dene’ Moody (Chad), Amber Cooke (Michael), and Ally Roberts (William); great-grandchildren: Karrigen Moody, Lezli Rae Hogan, Connor Towson, Jack Towson, Jesslyn Merritt, and Rowan Roberts; a brother, J.T. Chaney of Holt as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Hutto; a son-in-law, Harris Towson; a great-grandson, Chad Moody, Jr.; and siblings: Nathaniel Chaney, Harper Chaney, Lorene Sirmans, Delia Lott, Jerry Chaney, Sr., Bobby Chaney, and Otis Chaney.

Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla, is in charge of arrangements.
