Obituary

Francis Daniel Morris Jr., affectionately known as Frank, Frankie, or Frank the Tank by his family and friends, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on May 20, 2026. He was born on September 21, 1963, and was raised by his mother and father, Barbara and John Courtney. Frank grew up in Massachusetts, where he attended Medford High School and graduated from Malden High School, and attended American International College.

After high school, Frank proudly served as a United States Marine. While stationed at Camp Pendleton, he met his former wife, Kim Morris, with whom he shared four beautiful children. His time in the Marines was something he carried with pride throughout his life, and he often encouraged those he loved to honor service, family, and tradition.

Frank will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his confidence, his humor, and the boisterous energy he brought into every room he entered. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went and making people feel like they had known him forever. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends, and there was nothing he treasured more than his children, grandchildren, and the people closest to him.

Frank was a proud Boston sports fan through and through, especially when it came to the Red Sox and Patriots. He loved music, especially “Crocodile Rock,” and those who knew him best will remember his unforgettable stories, his laugh, his stubbornness, his love for Diet Pepsi, and the unforgettable way he could make people laugh. To know him was to know a man who could do anything for you; his generosity knew no bounds. He was the type of man who would always show up and lend a helping hand; he lived his life with open arms, a quick wit, and unshakable devotion to those he loved. He left behind a legacy of laughter and fierce loyalty; he was funny, loud, loving, loyal, and truly unforgettable.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, John and Barbara Courtney; his brother, Brian Courtney; and his sister, Suzanne Courtney.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Hayley Peterson; his children, Lindsey Kenyon and her husband, Brandon, Jodi Morris, Francis “Frankie” Morris III and his wife, Kristin, and Megan Morris; his grandchildren, Brayden and Carter Quitigua, Owen Roaf, Frankie Morris IV and Delaney Morris, and Alexander and Isabelle Kenyon. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many cousins, and countless friends who loved him.

Services for Frank will be held at Casper Funeral Services, 187 Dorchester Street, Boston, MA 02127. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 4p to 7p. He will be laid to rest at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA 02532, on June 1, 2026 at 12:30pm; family should meet at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to US Vets (honor.usvets.org) in Frank’s memory.
