WORCESTER-Monserrate (Claussell) Munoz, 64, of 43 Grand Street, died Friday, September 6th, in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after being stricken ill at home. She leaves a son, Benjamin Munoz, Jr. with whom she lived; 3 daughters, Cynthia T., Rena and Vanessa Munoz all of Worcester; a sister, Adela Brenes of Ponce, Puerto Rico; 9 grandchildren; 2 nieces.
She was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico the daughter of Jose and Alejandrina (Cedeno) Claussell and has lived in Worcester for many years. She attended High School in Puerto Rico and studied psychology in New York for two years. Mrs. Munoz worked as a housekeeper for Worcester Academy for several years. Previously she worked as housekeeper for many local businesses. She was an active member of St. Peter’s Church. She loved to dance.
The funeral will be Wednesday, September 11th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 93l Main Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, September 10th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
