Aubrey L. Harper, 86, of the Osierfield community in Irwin County, Georgia, died Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 A M, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Osierfield Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Sammy Smith officiating.
Mr. Harper was born August 30, 1939, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Meeks & Della Mae Carver Harper. He attended Irwin County schools and graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1957. He later attended South Georgia College. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Hutto Harper of Osierfield; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Kellie Harper Slota & Nathaniel of Roswell; granddaughter, Elle Melissa Slota; sisters: June Harper Phillips of Osierfield, Glenda Harper Buchek of Osierfield, and Delphine Harper Delaneuville of Osierfield; and a brother, Michael Harper of Knoxville, Tennessee. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Shellie Harper; two brothers, David Harper and Albert Harper; and two sisters, Joyce Harper Burley and Gail Harper.
