Maureen A. (Raimo) Hennigan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20th at Tufts Medical Center of Boston. She was 66. A life-long Medford resident, Maureen was the beloved daughter of Jacqueline (McGlynn) Raimo and the late Frank J. Raimo.
Maureen was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed a thirty year career with Medford Public Schools in the food service department. She had the distinction of cooking in each of Medford’s schools throughout her years. Over the decades of her service, she took on more and more managerial and administrative responsibilities. She was beloved by both the students and her co-workers. Not only was she a great cook at work, she was a great cook at home and enjoyed preparing and sharing delicious meals with everyone she loved. Always with a song in her heart and on her lips, Maureen kept a welcoming home for her large family and many friends. She enjoyed trips to Maine, the company of her dogs, sharing a cup of coffee with her friends, but most of all her children and grandchildren were the center of her life.
The beloved daughter of Jacqueline (McGlynn) Raimo and the late Frank J. Raimo, Maureen was the dear former wife of Billy Hennigan. She was the beloved mother of Melissa Hennigan, Kayla Marcken and her husband Camille, Christina Hennigan and Julianna Hennigan. She was a loving grandmother to Riley, Cameron, Aubrey, and Matteo. She was a devoted sister to Catherine Raimo, Patrick Raimo, Dennis Raimo, Timothy Raimo, Darrin Raimo, Michael Raimo and Todd Raimo. She leaves many nieces nephews and cousins who were dear to her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, May 28 from 4 - 7 PM and again on Friday morning at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
