Sutton – Robert P. Vasalofsky, 88, of Sutton, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Mr. Vasalofsky was married for 59 years to the late Tanya M. (Kwiatowski) Vasalofsky who passed away in 2021. He is survived by his three children, Diane Beals and her husband, Lee of Douglas, Bobby Vasalofsky of Sutton/Worcester, and Robert Solimita and his wife, Gail of Maine; a brother, John Vasalofsky of Spencer; a sister, Lois Parker of Princeton; 5 grandchildren, Maddison, Tori-Lee, Justin, Kali and Holly; 3 great grandchildren, Aubrey, Jaxson and Libby, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Vasalofsky was born in Millbury, son of the late John and Genevieve (Zukowsky) Vasalofsky. He graduated from the former Worcester Boy’s Trade High School where he played basketball and his studies focused on cabinet making.
He retired from PADCO in Worcester where he dedicated more than 20 years to his craft in custom cabinetry and molding, taking immense pride in the work of his hands and the details others might overlook. A true craftsman, he built not only beautiful spaces for others, but also his own home from the ground up–a place he loved sharing with family, friends, and anyone willing to admire the work. Whether pointing out a perfect piece of trim, or telling the story behind a project, his pride, skill, and love for building were evident in everything he created.
Mr. Vasalofsky was equal parts storyteller, troublemaker, and lifelong jokester. If he teased you relentlessly, it usually meant he loved you. His humor filled every room he entered, and his absence will leave things far too quiet.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at 11 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry Funeral Service Memorial Chapel 33 Ward St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 AM prior to the funeral service.
