
John H. “Jack” Grady passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Jack was the beloved husband of Paula (Christianson) Grady ,with whom he shared more than 50 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on February 10, 1947, he was the son of the late Maurice H. Grady and the late Eileen (Riordan) Grady.
He was raised in North Billerica and graduated from Billerica High School. Following high school he served in the Army Reserve.
Jack had a fulfilling career as a respected home builder throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire. He was also a well-known captain of the Good Times Fishing Charter boat out of Hampton, New Hampshire where he combined his love of the sea and passion for fishing with his generous spirit and quick wit.
He was a member of the Home Builders Association and Northeast Charter Boat Captains Association.
Whether he and Paula were traveling or spending time at their beach house, Jack created many happy memories with family and friends. He especially loved being by the ocean. He was proud to call both North Billerica and Seabrook Beach home.
In addition to his wife Paula, Jack is survived by his sisters, Anne-Marie Grady of Nahant and Pamela Newfell and her husband Philip of North Billerica; his sister-in-law Judith Drane and his many loving nieces, Deanna Walsh(Mark),Courtney Crush(Jason), Kelley Fleming(Michael), Heather Chuck, Jennifer Marcella(James), Meg Peterson (Kevin), and Brenna Newfell, along with many great-nieces and great- nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers-in-law Roger B. Drane and James Callahan.
All are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated Friday, May 22 at 11 a.m. at St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. At Jack’s request there are no Calling Hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
