Penny Ann Barlow, 62, of Fitzgerald, passed peacefully Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at McRae Manor in McRae, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge and the Rev. Glenn Pulliam officiating. Interment will follow in the Arbor Cemetery in Fitzgerald. The family will greet friends from 10 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
Ms. Barlow was born October 2, 1963, in Emmanuel County, Georgia, to the late James Waitus & Jeanette Mimbs Browning. She loved being around people and thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent working as a secretary for East Central Technical College and the work she did for the Literacy Program there. She’s also held other customer service roles in the community including Shoney’s, Walmart and Fitzgerald Underwear. Ms. Barlow enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching her favorite T.V. Evangelist Les Feldick and spending time with her animals. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Daniel Sayles (Allijean) of Reidsville, Amanda Brown (Scott) of Fitzgerald and Joseph Sidwell (Kari) of Douglas; grandchildren: Payzlee Canady, Jill Canady, Candace Canady, Austin Brown, Kathlyn Andreotti (Tony), Kaleb Alewine, Jayce Alewine, Alexis Garcia, Melanie Garcia, Kyra Garcia, Judy Brown, Aubrey Brown, Devin Taft, Vanessa Taft and Alexandrea Sidwell; great grandchildren: Elizabeth Andreotti and William Andreotti; a sister, Pamela Drake of Adrian, and her fur babies: Dixie Darlin and Little Man. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great grandson, Kyler Brown and a brother, Danny Elliott.
