Obituary

LIMINGTON-
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Crockett, who departed peacefully on May 11, 2026 at the young age of 65, with family by his side. After a courageous and long-fought battle with lung cancer, he has finally found rest, leaving behind a legacy as solid as the structures he spent his life building.

Mark was born and raised in Buxton, ME and has lived the last 25+ years in Limington where he cleared the land and built his home.

An accomplished builder by trade, Mark was known for his precision, his work ethic, and his humility. He never claimed his success as his own; instead, he frequently expressed his deepest gratitude for the mentors who "took him under their wings." He carried those early lessons in the trades throughout his entire life, paying it forward by sharing his knowledge and skills with anyone in need and willing to learn. Mark built 23 homes, and had another in que, for family and friends at no cost. He had a generous soul and simply wanted to help people.

Mark served for many years as a volunteer firefighter with the Chicopee Fire Department. He was very involved with the local trail system, working to maintain and expand it. Throughout his life he enjoyed snowmachining, four-wheeling, fireman’s musters (taking on the ladder and winning often), bottle picking, horse shoes, and especially, dancing. He attended family events as much as possible and always joined in on the games.

Mark was predeceased by his parents Lewis & Grace Crockett, his brother Steven and nephews Shawn and Devon. He is survived by his wife, Holly; Siblings-Gale, Cheryl, Sharon, Michael, Gary, Brenda and Trudy; Children/Step Children-Alicia, Tasha, Desiree, Trista, Lauren and Ryan; Grandchildren-Olivia, Natalie, Jaxon, Madox, Jocelyn, Cadence, Parker, Isla and Scottie along with many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews

A private viewing for family will be held on Sunday May 17th at 1 PM for Mark's family at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) Buxton. A public graveside service will be held afterward at 2 PM at Pine Grove (North Buxton) Cemetery, on Cemetery Road, Buxton. A celebration of life will then follow at The Roost on Chicopee Road
