
Mary Ann Marshel, 83, of Anderson passed away on May 10, 2026 at her home following an extended illness.
She was born on November 8, 1942 in Paxton, IL to Roshier and Eleanor (Fannin) Marshel. She was a 1959 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School.
She was an inspector at Broadway Glass for 15 years.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, watching football, cooking, baking, gardening, and watching murder mysteries. She was very involved with the Madison County 4-H Horse and Ponies and the Canine Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Hendricks; a brother, Roshier "Topper" (Marcy) Marshel II; a sister, Rose Stanford; two granddaughters, Madison (Deante) Tate and Kasandra Bland; five great-grandchildren, Paisley Rogers, Priscilla Rogers, Piper Rogers, Khaza Tate and Alexis Tate; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Angela Kay Marshel.
Funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Carl Stagner officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
