
Doris K. (Ingram) Pyle

Doris K. (Ingram) Pyle, 92, of Anderson passed away on February 10, 2026 at Envive Healthcare following an extended illness.
She was born on April 22, 1933 in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Remus and Bertha (Poston) Ingram.
She graduated from Anderson College with a bachelor’s degree in Education and from Ball State University with her master’s degree in Sociology.
She retired in 1997 from Anderson Community School after 38.5 years as a middle school teacher at Southside Middle School. Following her retirement she taught at Ivy Tech for five years.
She was a member of Park Place Church of God. She served on the executive board of the Anderson Federation of Teachers and the state board of Indiana Learning and Disabilities Association. She was involved in the Anderson Police Merit Board for five years.
She opened her home and heart to Anderson University students, many of whom became lifelong friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Minnich of Anderson; son, Tim Pyle; foster son Mark Marshall both of Anderson; a sister, Jean Connell of Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; foster daughters, Linda Windham, Anna Graig; daughter, Merrilyn Pyle; son, Billy Pyle and foster son, Roger Denny; three brothers, Cecil Ingram, Herbert Ingram, and John Ingram.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Park Place Church of God with Pastor Jonathan Grubbs officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Operation Love, Ambassadors for God's Creatures or Park Place Community Center.
