Fletcher D. Ramsey, age 76, affectionately known as “Doug” to many of his family, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2026. He was born on April 26, 1950 in Easley, SC. He was predeceased by his father Fletcher Lincoln Gamble. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Belinda Smith-Ramsey of Chicopee; his mother Frances M. Ramsey of Easley, SC; two sons, Fletcher D. Ramsey Jr of CA and Douglas Ramsey (Stephanie) of CT; two step children, Marvin and Samara Smith of Chicopee; one brother Thurman “June” Ramsey of Easley, SC; two sisters, Rev. Dr. Valerie Hendricks (Floyd) of Easley, SC and Lucille “Hope” Valentine (Lewis) of Bellevue, NE and four beloved grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his step-father, Thurman Ramsey, step-son, Bryant Smith and his brother Jesse Ramsey. Fletcher was a dedicated medical worker. He worked his way from a physical therapist assistant to an orderly to a respiratory therapist and ending his career as a registered nurse doing home health care for his beloved Jacklyn Davignon and adults in the community. He loved to bowl, golf, play canasta, go on cruises and enjoyed trips to the beach. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
