Obituary

MEREDITH ---- Carolyn Mae Dyment, 94, of Meredith, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Golden View Healthcare Center in Meredith, NH.

Carolyn was born on July 9, 1931, in Craftsbury, VT, the daughter of Irving and Edith (Chase) Wells.

She attended schools in Vermont and New Hampshire, graduating from Simonds High School in Warner, NH. After high school, Carolyn attended Concord Commercial College and received a degree in Secretarial Science. Carolyn worked for Merrimack Farmers Exchange and the State of NH. She married Warren Dyment in 1955 and once they began a family, Carolyn stayed at home to raise their daughters. Bravely, Carolyn returned to the workforce when the girls were in their teens to help the family. She worked for the New England Telephone Company for many years. Upon retirement, she cherished time with Warren, her family, neighbors, and friends.

In later years, Carolyn made wise decisions about what she needed and when it was time to make changes. She moved from her home in Gilford after living there for 53 years and moved to The Golden Crest in Franklin. She lived there happily for more than nine years. When health dictated, Carolyn decided to move to Golden View Health Care Center and adapted to a new life there. She enjoyed interacting with the staff immensely.

Carolyn enjoyed various hobbies and she always had “projects” that she was working on. Carolyn sewed clothing, quilts, and did beautiful embroidery work. She also had a green thumb and for many years had a gorgeous flower and productive vegetable garden. Carolyn liked to read, color intricate pictures, and spend time with family. Both grandsons Jonathan and Matthew remember “Camp Nana” fondly.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters Ann Dyment Welch and Donna Marie Gunby and her husband Walter, two grandchildren Jonathan and his wife Betsy and Matthew Gunby, two great-grandchildren Carolyn and Christopher and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her beloved husband Warren Dyment, sisters Esther Miller and Lorraine Young, and brother Irving Wells.

Services will be private. Hospice Chaplain Susan Kjellberg will officiate.

More than once, Carolyn remarked what a good life she had experienced and how lucky she had been. It is with that note of thankfulness that the family would like to thank everyone at The Golden Crest, Concord Hospital Laconia/Frankin, Quality Care Hospice and Golden View Health Care Center for their wonderful staff and for all the love and care they gave Carolyn.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice.
