Margaret M. (Peggy) Riccio, 83, of Londonderry, NH, left us on Wednesday April 29, 2026 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. A Boston native and a proud Irishwoman, Peggy was born on July 7, 1942, a daughter of the late Alfred and Loretta (Campbell) Duffy. Peggy was a resident of Derry for over 20 years before living in Londonderry for the past decade.
A lifelong believer in the power of education with a personal interest in history, Peggy earned a bachelor's degree from Boston State College while raising four young children. She later returned to school while working full time to earn her MBA from Suffolk University. Her intelligence, and her dedication to her work and her coworkers, helped Peggy rise to a senior vice president role at First Eastern Mortgage Company before her retirement. As she grew in her studies and her career, Peggy also made room for travel, the arts, and a diverse array of friends.
Peggy passed on her best qualities - her drive, quick wit, and caring for others - to her sons Daniel Riccio, Jr. of Marblehead, MA, and the late Brian Riccio; and her daughters Kristine Benham of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, and Melissa Starker of Columbus, OH. In addition to her three living children, Peggy is survived by her husband, Daniel Riccio of Londonderry; her brother, Eugene Duffy of Boston, MA; her four grandchildren, and her beloved nieces and nephews. In her passing, she joins Brian as well as her late siblings Paul Duffy, Carol Coyne, and Rosemary Reilly, Peggy's eldest sister and closest friend.
Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 6th at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. Following the Mass, a reception will be held from 11:30am - 1:30pm in the Greenhouse at the Backyard Brewery and Kitchen, 1211 S. Mammoth Road, Manchester, NH. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
