Obituary

CHICOPEE – Caroline D. (Ross) Archambault, 72, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life at the River Mills Assisted Living at Chicopee Falls surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on January 3, 1954, a beloved daughter of the late Harold and Doris (Houle) Ross. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School, Class of 1972, and received her Associate’s Degree from Holyoke Community College. She moved to Chicopee in 1993 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was an Administrative Supervisor for the Department of Transitional Assistance for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and retired in 2018. She loved going to the beach and was fortunate to have cruised 14 times to the Caribbean and once to Alaska. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Ronald Lucien Archambault who was Called Home on April 1, 2024. They were married on September 25, 1993 at Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 30 years of happiness together. She leaves her dear sister, Madeline Ross of Chicopee; her loving and devoted members of the Archambault family who cared for her lovingly, Robert and Karen Archambault of Ludlow and Marc and Cynthia Archambault of Hampden; her aunt, Florence Turner of Cincinnati, OH; her four nephews, her niece, her three grandnephews, her two grandnieces, and her cousins, numerous friends, and extended family members. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.). Her Committal Service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in Caroline's memory to the Harmony House, 66 View Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 or to the Hospice of the Fisher House, 1165 N.
