Ronald Romain Anderson, 90, of Madison Twp., PA, and formerly of Gipsy, PA, died April 29, 2026 peacefully at home in Madison Twp.
Born July 13, 1935 in Valier, PA, he was the son of the late Dwight R. Anderson and Geraldine F. Tyger Anderson Bernd.
Ronald was first married to Ada Rairigh. He later married Andria Bush Anderson, with whom he resided in Wyalusing for a time. For more than thirty years, he shared a life with Lorraine Courtright and her family, built on care and enduring love.
Ronald was preceded in death by his infant son: Daniel Ronald Anderson and his brother: Michael Bernd.
He is survived by his children: Drena Anderson (Nancy Dimaio) of Hyattsville, MD, Devin Anderson (Stefanie) of Rabun Gap, GA and Parris Bayesa (Michael) of Camp Hill, as well as Lorraine’s daughter: Neely Garvey, of Madison Twp.
Ronald is remembered by his grandsons: Robert (Bo) Anderson, George (G.B.) Anderson, Graham Anderson, Colton Bayesa, Grant Bayesa, Patrick Garvey, and Jacob Garvey. He was extremely proud of his grandsons.
Ronald graduated from Montgomery Township High School with the class of 1953 before
serving in the U.S. Navy and following his service, attended Penn State University for a brief time
before beginning a career in construction, most recently with M.J. Spott Construction.
He believed in doing things the right way and paid close attention to detail. Ronald was a careful
reader and persistent learner, willing to research and understand the task at hand. Through the
years, he became a practical teacher to others, sharing what he knew and holding high standards
for the work.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and found a deep connection to nature, often saying he felt
closest to God there. He also enjoyed cars, motorcycles and aircraft and had an appreciation for
flying.
Ronald took pride in a job well done. He is remembered for his skill and the care he showed
in his work and in his life.
The family is grateful for the care Ron received from Dr. Weston, the staff at Geisinger Hospital,
Allied Rehab Services, Interim Physical Therapy and his roommate and close friend while at Allied
Services, Pete.
