Obituary

Renai Willard Watts, 74, of Nashville passed away Thursday April 30, 2026, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Justin Bickford and Darrin Smith officiating. Mr. Watts will be laid to rest at Staunton Cemetery in Lenox. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Chris Watts, Lee Bickford, Sean Watts, Eli Watts, Alex Smith and Shane Watts will serve as pallbearers.

Born February 1, 1952, in Bowden, Mr. Watts was the son of the late James Willard Watts and Lessie Bell Hutchinson Watts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Ann Loyed Watts; one son, David Watts; four brothers, Mike Watts, Eugene Watts, Durward Watts and Gaither Watts; and one sister, Peggy Johnson. Before retiring, he worked as a self-employed mechanic; and he was a member of Dirt Road Ministry in Lenox. He loved wood-working and enjoyed working in general.

Mr. Watts is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Darrin Smith of Nashville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Christopher and Angel Watts of Lenox and Jonathan Watts of Tifton; two sisters, WyNell Ogletree of Lenox and Faye Henderson of Moreland; eight grandchildren, Justin Bickford, Lee Bickford, Brittany Benka, Sean Watts, Tanya Roberts, Kyle Gray, Shane Watts and Eli Watts; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
