
Michael J. Lindsey, 73, of Tifton passed away April 29th in his home and in the care of close friends. His funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2026, at Tifton’s First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Hugh Ward and the Rev. Biff Coker officiating. A eulogy will be given by the Rev. Denise Percival. Michael will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Tifton’s First Presbyterian Church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Brian Atwater, Patrick Atwater, Lee Powell, Justin Sumner, Ashley Ball and Jeff Dixon will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 17, 1952, he is preceded in death by his loving parents, Mr. Lemmie James Lindsey and Mrs. Lotus Amelia Snow Lindsey; his paternal grandparents, Mr. James Henry Lindsey and Mrs. Alma B. Lindsey; his maternal grandparents, Mr. Earl Clifton Snow and Mrs. Elzie W. Snow; his sister, Mrs. Linda Lindsey Norman; and his beloved cat, Punky.
Michael is survived by his nephew, Prof. Neil L. Norman and his wife, Mrs. Hope Taylor Norman; his great-nephew, Mr. William J. R. Norman; his great-niece, Ms. Treva L. Norman. He is also survived by close friends, who remained with him until the end, Becky Gill, Charlene Hill, Katianne Ball, Jessical Powell, Suzanne Stoner, along with his loyal caregiver, Randall Martin, and his devoted cat, Stumpy.
Michael, a talented floral designer, excelled throughout his life at bringing joy, creative art, and beautiful floral arrangements into the lives of his family, friends, and customers. Michael graduated from Tift County High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He owned Michael’s on Twelfth, an outlet for his creative passion and flair, for many years. Weddings, proms, and funerals were all more beautiful when his creativity was part of the occasion. Michael loved Radio Flyer, Panama Jack, and the beach. He made this world a brighter place sharing his gifts, talents, and wonderful personality with those who were privileged to know him. Flowers by Michael always brought radiant sunshine into the world of those around him. He knew how to make the world more beautiful and vibrant.
Michael was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Tifton. It is requested that bright colors be worn to Michael's celebration of life service.
