Francis Xavier Hanrahan passed away at the age of 94 on April 28, 2026.
He was born in 1932 and was the son of the late John and Eva Hanrahan.
He was raised and educated is South Boston, Massachusetts.
He served in the army during the Korean War as part of the medical corps.
He later moved to Dorchester, Massachusetts where he raised four children, Kevin, Kathleen, James, and Jean.
In his off time, he loved going camping and gardening and generally just outdoor activities.
He was also a great fan of all the major Boston sports teams but especially of the Bruins and the Patriots.
He worked primarily as a metallurgist for various branches of the government and he loved to talk about the various types of projects he worked on to all who would listen.
Later in life he moved to Plymouth in Massachusetts, which he and his late wife, Sharon enjoyed.
Later, seven grandchildren came, followed by six great grandchildren, which Fran took great pleasure in getting to know and spend time with.
Francis Xavier Hanrahan lived a long life and affected many people in a positive way.
A graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Tuesday, May 5 at 2 P.M.
