Wayne Thomas Allen, 73, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 23, 1953, in Lowell, Massachusetts, Wayne was raised in Tewksbury and was a proud 1971 graduate of Tewksbury Memorial High School. He went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy before beginning a lifelong career as a chef — a craft he pursued with the same passion and dedication he brought to everything he loved.
A free spirit with a kind heart, Wayne had a deep love of music and was a devoted Boston sports fan, cheering on the Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins his whole life. Above all, Wayne treasured time with his family — he was a proud father who rarely missed one of his son Ryan's sporting events growing up, and in his later years found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, Liana and Leo.
He is survived by his son, Ryan Allen, and daughter-in-law Ashley of Boxford, Massachusetts; his grandchildren, Liana and Leo; his sisters, Donna Hughes and her husband Richard of Pepperell, Massachusetts, and Joann Morasse and her husband Michael of Bridgton, Maine; and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Norma Kenneally.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a wake at Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, in Tewksbury on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne's memory may be made to the American Lung Association at lung.org.
Wayne will be deeply missed by all who knew him — remembered for his free spirit, his kindness, and his love for his family.
