Anthony K. Williams, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unforgettable memories. Born on October 25, 1949, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Anthony was the beloved son of the late Marie Cotton Forshee and Henry Williams.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Juanita Washington, and his brother Danny Forshee and his beloved wife Bennette Williams. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two daughters, Vera Watkins and Selena Williams; his brothers Albert Williams, Larry Williams, and Mark Forshee; his grandchildren Keith Jihad Branch and Ashanté Ann Marie Redden; his great-granddaughter Londyn Noelle Branch; and his son-in-law Russell E. Watkins, his dog Max, along with a host of extended family and dear friends
Anthony’s story began with humble roots. Raised as one of five children and the third oldest he graduated from Lincoln High School and soon after decided to join the United States Navy. In 1969, Anthony made a bold move to Boston, Massachusetts, where he began building a life that reflected both ambition and heart. Over the years, he tried a few entrepreneurial ventures. He owned a shoe store, a liquor store, a BBQ truck, and multiple homes. He was known not just for what he built, but for how he made people feel along the way.
He was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved playing cards, cooking meals that brought people together, and enjoying life to the fullest. He was a friend to many, with a lively spirit that could light up any room. Depending on where you knew him from, he answered to many names. In North Carolina, he was “Keity Boy.” In Boston, he was “Tony.” But the name he held closest to his heart was the name “Big Papa.” Family and friends alike called him this. Anthony loved to laugh, loved to celebrate life, and had a well-known appreciation for a good Cadillac. He carried himself with presence and personality, and you always knew when he was around.
Anthony Williams was many things, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, a loving husband, a brother, and a loyal friend. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he built, and the memories that will continue to bring both laughter and comfort. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Family and Friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours at Casper Funeral Home 187 Dorchester St South Boston 02127 on Friday May 1, 2026 from 1-3PM.
