WORCESTER____Jose E. Martinez, 65, of Worcester, Massachusetts peacefully passed away on Saturday April 25, 2026 at UMASS – Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. He was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, a son of Jose E. Martinez and Lidia A. Sanabia. He was predeceased by his mother and father and by his oldest son, Jose E. Martinez, Jr.
Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Brigida Gomez De Martinez; his 8 children, Evelyn Martinez, Victor Martinez, Robert Martinez, Christopher Martinez, Mirabella Martinez, Jenipher Martinez, and Darlyng Martinez; five grandchildren; two brothers, Guarberto Martinez and Fausto Martinez; seven half-brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Martinez grew up in the Dominican Republic, where he completed both his high school and college education. He dedicated more than 20 years of his career to Creedon & Co., Inc., serving as a respected foreman. He had a deep love for sports and cherished spending time with his friends and family. Mr. Martinez will be remembered as someone who was genuinely loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Calling hours for Jose will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry Funeral Service Memorial Chapel, 33 Ward Street. His funeral and burial will be held in the Dominican Republic.
