Obituary

Auburn – Raymond H. Garry, 99, of Auburn, passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Ray is survived by his two daughters, Paulette R. Beaudin and her husband, Robert of Spencer and Sandra J. Abdella and her husband, Paul of North Oxford; two step-children, Bruce A. White and his wife, Susan of North Oxford and Brian M. White and his wife, Sandra of Oxford; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ray was is predeceased by his first wife, Doris P. (Barrett) Garry, his second wife, Bernice A. (Johnson) White Garry; a son, Wayne Garry; a grandson, Keith Bernard; a sister, Jeannette Bonin and a brother, Ernest “Pete” Garry.

Ray was born in Worcester, son of the late Henry and Rosalie (Plante) Garry. He graduated from Saint John’s High School in Worcester and then proudly served in the United States Navy.

Alongside his wife Doris, he owned and operated the former United Automatic Heating Company in Worcester retiring 1990. He was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Church in Auburn and also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council #13637 in Auburn where was a Fourth Degree Knight.

Ray loved taking care of his home, whether it was maintaining his yard outdoors or taking care of a repair inside. Calling for outside help was never necessary as he always had the knowledge and skill to make the fix. Ray enjoyed traveling to Florida, but he was truly the happiest when he was spending time with his family, from boat rides on Stiles Lake to cookouts and dinners with family.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his devoted caregivers; Collins, Brige, Jerome and Abby as well as his nurse, Dina. All of whom through their compassion and care brought comfort and dignity to Ray’s final chapter.

The funeral will be held on Saturday May 2, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Saint Joseph Church 194 Oxford St. Auburn. Burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 1 in the Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry Funeral Service Memorial Chapel 33 Ward St. Worcester from 5 to 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ray may be made to either the Jewish Healthcare Hospice Program 646 Salisbury St. Worcester, MA 01609 or to the Goddard House 1199 Main St. Worcester, MA 01603.
