Olga Italia (Guarino) Reed, age 93, of Medford passed away on Tuesday, April 28th. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Umberto and Antonietta (Parisi) Guarino. Olga moved to Medford in 1955 and was employed in the billing department at Massachusetts General Hospital. Those who knew Olga will remember her as a very hard worker. She was also generous and would help anyone in need. Most of all, she really loved her family.
Olga was the devoted mother of Ronald Reed and his wife Diane, Lisa Perry, and Karen Theberge and her husband Greg. She was the loving grandmother of Dylan, his wife Amanda and their daughter Amber Shea, Zachary and his wife Ashley, Colin and his partner Crowe, Brianna and Kaitlyn. Olga was the dear sister of the late Maria, Rita, Theresa and Albert. She was the cherished aunt of the late Joseph, and is survived by Albert, his wife Nicole and their children Dante, Derek and Sofia, Jamie, and Sandra and her children Nicholas, Anthony and Veronica. Olga’s family wishes to express their gratitude to Mary Queen of Peace Parish, the Legion of Mary, and The Community Family, with a special thanks to the VNA, and Dr. Sabrina Dar.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, May 4th from 3 to 7 PM, and again on Tuesday, May 5th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Olga’s memory to Mary Queen of Peace Parish, 118 High St., Medford, MA 02155.
