Mr. Roger E. Peak, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Tetrault) Peak, passed away, Peacefully, at his home on Sunday evening, April 26, 2026. He was 94 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on September 10, 1931, he was the beloved son of the late Ralph E. and Marion E. (Ferguson) Peak. Mr. Peak was retired from Stella D'oro where he was employed as an Independent Salesman. Roger was a self taught artist and loved to paint with oils and acrylics. He also loved nature and loved teaching his children and grandchildren all about the outdoors and astronomy. Roger was a long time Medford Youth Hockey coach and played goalie with an adult hockey team, the Friday Night Follies. He also passionately loved his home at Blodgett's Landing, Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire, where he enjoyed many summers and eventually made it his permanent home upon retirement with his family and friends. His brilliant sense of humor and love of life never waivered in his 94 years. He was a proud member of the United States Naval Reserves.
He will be dearly missed. Roger is survived by his loving children; Cynthia J. and her husband Michael R. Richal of Falmouth and Pamela E. and her husband Scot Somerville of Medford, daughter-in-law; Shannon (Williams) Peak of Derry, New Hampshire, grandchildren; Kara and her husband Jeff Vinciulla and Lindsay, Andrew and Patrick Somerville, Machayla and Brenden Peak and Daniel Richal, great grandson; Dean Vinciulla and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Elizabeth A. McGrath. Roger was also the loving father of the late Scott N. Peak, who passed away on October 31, 2023.
His funeral service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting will be held in the funeral home, prior to the service, from 9 to 11:30 AM. Interment will held at a later date.
