SACO- Paul G. Poirier Sr., age 79, of Saco, passed away on April 25, 2026, after a period of declining health.
He was born in Biddeford on Aug. 6, 1946, a son of the late Paul O. and Frances (Millette) Poirier. After attending parochial schools and high school, Paul went to serve in the U.S. Army.
After returning home from the service, Paul began a very successful building moving business (Poirier Building Movers, Inc.) that operated throughout Maine and New Hampshire. He will be forever remembered for the hard work and dedication he had with operating his business. Until his final weeks, Paul could be found on his jobsites overseeing buildings being jacked-up or relocated.
Paul enjoyed collecting antique farm tractors, classic vehicles- especially military trucks and fire apparatus, and attending gatherings such as antique truck and tractor clubs
He is predeceased by his brother- Guy Poirier.
Paul is survived by his children- Paul Poirier Jr. and his wife Joanna of Dayton and Paula Camire of Saco; his "adopted" son-Kenny Watson and his wife Shannon of Saco; three grandchildren- Zachary Poirier, Emily Camire and Troy Camire; and siblings- Marc Poirier and his wife Peggy, Peter Poirier, Suzanne Thibeau, Denise Lachance and Gisele Poirier.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at a later date.
