LEDYARD: Nora Bell "Dolly" (Miner) Willcox died on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at her home. Dolly was born in Bozrah. She married her lifelong husband at age 17 in 1948, and she has resided in Ledyard in the home that they had built together. Dolly has greatly missed her husband Ray (Buster) E. Willcox Jr. who passed away in 2012. She is also predeceased by their eldest son Ray E. Willcox III and grandchildren Leonard Ray McCray and Aleesha-lyn Wood as well as 5 sisters and 6 brothers. She is survived by her four children; Darlene (Everett) Cheek, Lois (Steven) Mulhern, Catherine (James) Missino and Todd (Heidi) Willcox, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, along with many loved family and friends.
Dolly was a Home Health Aide, Foster Mother and a caregiver to many. There was nothing that she would not help with. She will be greatly missed by many.
The updated arrangement details are as follows: Dolly's family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 29, from 5 to 7pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. Burial Will be held on Tuesday, May 5, at noon in the Brown Peckham Main Cemetery,, 176 Iron Street, Ledyard. A reception will follow from 1 to 5pm at St. James Church, 95 Route 2A, Preston.
