Worcester – Cynthia Rose Marie (Rousseau) St. John, 78, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday,
April 19, 2026 in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus.
Cynthia is survived by two children, Christopher Rousseau of Watertown, MA, and James St.
John of Sperryville, VA; her siblings, James Keddy of New Hampshire, and Marcia Keddy of West
Boylston, MA; and her closest grandchildren Eric Rocheleau of Framingham, MA. and James W.
Rocheleau III of Douglas, MA; as well as other distant grandchildren and loving and supportive
extended family. She also leaves behind a much-appreciated community of friends and staff at
Life Care Center of Auburn where she resided temporarily.
Cynthia was born in Worcester, and is predeceased by mother Marie Grace (Rousseau) Keddy
and a daughter, Lauren Rocheleau.
She attended Worcester Public Schools and after high school she was a proud graduate of the
Career Education Training Center at Worcester Vocational Technical School where she learned
to be a machinist, a job that she held for over 30 years at Norton Saint Gobain Company.
Cynthia’s many eclectic interests included stuffed teddy bear crafting, quilting, knitting,
painting, and costume jewelry making. She enjoyed spending time outside in her flower
garden, learning foreign languages, reading, and the lasting companionship of her many
beloved pets. For many years she was a live-steam model train enthusiast with her daughter
Lauren. Cynthia also volunteered at Quinsigamond Community College helping to teach ESL.
She was not just a mother to her children but also a close and valued friend. Though she
traveled to several parts of the U.S., she was always very happy to return home to her friends,
family, and neighbors in New England.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 28 at 11 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry
Funeral Service Memorial Chapel 33 Ward St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial
Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions
in memory of Cynthia may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League 139 Holden St.
