Louise (McCorkle) McManus, of West Roxbury, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on April 18, 2026. Born on January 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Lieutenant John McCorkle and Mary of Dorchester.
Beloved wife of the late George J. McManus II and the devoted mother of Theresa Rooney and her husband Mark of South Boston, and George J. McManus III and his wife Mary of Braintree.
Adored grandmother of Courtney Ponticelli (Joseph), Meghan O’Connor (James), George J. IV McManus (Jillian), Jake, Nolan, and Bridget Rooney. Also survived by five great-grandchildren, with a sixth on the way.
Sister of Joanne Edwards (Jerry) of Cape Coral, Florida, the late John “Jack” McCorkle (Rita) of Norwood, and Elizabeth McCorkle of Braintree. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished and loved dearly.
Louise had a deep love for life and was happiest in the company of family and friends. She especially enjoyed summers on Cape Cod in Popponesset and treasured her trips to Aruba. Known for her lively spirit, she never missed an opportunity to celebrate and will be remembered for the joy she brought to every gathering.
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, April 26, from 2:00-6:00 at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 27, at 10:00am at Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre St. West Roxbury.
