
William Thomas Steverson, 72, of Mannheim, Germany, died Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in Germany.
Graveside services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia with family officiating.
Mr. Steverson was born March 9, 1954, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Joseph J. & Essie Mae Branch Steverson. He left school early and joined the Army. He served his country all over the world for 20 years as a nuclear artillery instructor. Following his retirement as an E-6, he remained in Germany, living out the remainder of his life there. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and being outdoors.
He is survived by his children: Joanna Steverson, Brian Steverson & Kelly, Shana Steverson, and Kenny Wayne Bass & Tracy; several grandchildren; a brother, Kenny Steverson & Debbie of Fitzgerald; and a sister, Frances White of Fitzgerald; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margid Steverson; a brother, John Steverson; and two sisters: Christine Steverson and Ethel Griffin.
