John “Twom” Twomey, 75, passed away peacefully on April 2nd after a brief illness.
Born on August 2nd in Charlestown, John was the beloved son of the late John “Jack” Twomey and Lorraine (Sharp) Twomey. He was raised in Tewksbury, where he spent much of his early life, and for the past 25 years made his home in Dracut.
John was predeceased by his parents, his sister Diane Naves, and his brother-in-law Joseph Sheehan Jr.
He leaves behind his devoted sister and caretaker, Lorraine (Twomey) Sheehan, with whom he shared a home for the past two decades. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws Richard Sheehan and his husband Robert Gendron, and Lance Sheehan. John held a special place in his heart for his dear friend Ralph and his “other sister,” Gen Parasole.
John will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews,
including Michael Naves and his wife Shannon; Melissa Sheehan; Jennifer (Sheehan) Lane and her husband Jonathan and their children Jordon, Jacob, Joseph, and Jack; Manuel Naves and his wife Ashley; Nicole Sheehan and her fiancé Rich Sutherland her children, Jason Polk; Steven Currier; Melinda Madruga and her husband Mike, their children Jeffrey and Julianna; Brian Sheehan and his children Lexi, Julia and Brian Jr.; Erika “The Boss” and Mark Angluin, their children Lily, Bella, and Markie; and Anthony Parasole and his daughter Josephine Parasole. He also leaves behind many cousins.
John was loved by all and truly lived an amazing life. In his younger years, he worked at the Tewksbury Northmeadow Tennis Club, where he formed lasting friendships and could often be found visiting daily socializing with his buddies and enjoying his favorite Diet Coke. Later in life he also worked at Merrimack Rug and Linoleum for his brother in laws Richie & Lanny.
He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures: spending time with his family, visiting Salisbury Beach, listening to his police scanner, and dining out—especially at his favorite spot, Alfresca’s. John especially cherished time spent with his best buddy Parasole, where they would relax together watching TV, taking naps, and enjoying his favorite meals of hamburgers and two bags of tater tots.
To know John was to love him. He brought joy to everyone he met, and his kindness left a
lasting impression on all who crossed his path. His passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of many, but his life reminds us all of the importance of kindness and connection.
John will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Lowell General Main campus ICU ground for the exceptional care provided to John, along with the staff and all his friends at Summit Eldercare Program for always going above and beyond.
