Robert J. Dupre, 87, of Westport, passed away at home on Monday, April 13, 2026. He was the husband of the late Beatrice M. (Mello) Dupre, they shared over 60 years of marriage.
Mr. Dupre was born in Fall River, son of the late Delvida and Jeannette (Asselin) Dupre and had resided in Westport for most of his life. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to retirement, he worked for the former COM Electric, New Bedford. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. His favorite hobby was building and flying radio controlled airplanes. He was also an avid reader.
He is survived by his brother Reginald V. Dupre and his wife Pierette of Fall River; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Robert J. Dupre, Jr. and brother of the late Claudette Fontaine and her husband James Fontaine.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relative and friends are invited will be Monday, April 20, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Monday at the Potter Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass.
Interment will be private.
