Cecelia A. "Glitter" Deschambault, 81, of Bedford, NH passed away peacefully Sunday April 12, 2026, at Catholic Medical Center of Manchester, NH after a period of declining health. Cecelia was born June 15, 1944, in Portland, ME, a daughter of the late Justin B. and Frances L(Gedney) Sidley. Cecelia grew up in Lawrence MA and lived in Hudson, NH for many years, prior to relocating to Bedford in 1978.
Cecelia worked as an electronics assembler for 20+ years at Sanders Associates (now BAE) in Nashua, NH. She enjoyed knitting and was a member of a group of ladies who gathered daily at the local Dunkin Donuts, where she was known to everyone as "Glitter". Cecelia's favorite vacation destination was Disney. Cecelia also loved to shop at and visit thrift stores. No one could strike a better bargain than Cecelia!
Members of the family include her son George J. (from previous marriage to George Bistany) and his wife, & Suzanne Bistany, daughter, Diane A. Deschambault (and partner Kae), and stepdaughter, Lynda A. Deschambault, two stepsons, Mark and David Deschambault, four grandchildren, Lauren, George ("Dylan") and Jeremy Bistany, and Sydney Smith, two sisters, Frances Sidley (and companion Paul) and Maureen Fiske and her husband Wayne, her brother Richard Gedney and his wife Sheila, and sister-in-law Laurette Gedney, and her father's second wife, Prisicille Sidley. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cecelia was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, Raymond Deschambault, and her brother Edmond Gedney.
Calling hours will be held Thursday April 16, 2026, from 4 to 7 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Catholic prayer service will be offered on Friday at 10 am in the funeral home and will conclude with burial at Forest Hill Cemetery of East Derry.
